One Day Sculpture Collective

ONE DAY SCULPTURE was New Zealand's first nationwide commissioning series of temporary, place-based public artworks. The series involved New Zealand-based and international artists — each of whom were invited to produce a new work that occurred during a discrete 24-hour period over the course of one year. This project witnessed over twenty artistic endeavours, these practices were spread out over one year, each project very different in its own right. This provided much dialogue documentation and continued enquiry within the chosen communities. The One Day Sculpture was organised by Massey school of Fine Art in Wellington and  British curator  Claire Bishop. Various artists were involved in the project Superflex in Auckland,  Tomas Hirschhorn in Christchurch among others.
